The new RIU Palace Peninsula opened on May 4, 2012, and is pretty fabulous! There are a variety of room categories that also include 3 adults only villa buildings with all VIP services and pool-beach-restaurant and bar; there are also several pools, including foot rinsing pools, a wide variety of restaurants and buffet, 24 hour room service, swim up bar, and is bordered on both front sides by beach. There's no trouble finding a chair where ever you might want to spend your day. The resort looks straight out across the turquoise bay to Isla Mujeres, and is about 15 minutes from the airport, so you're there in no time! There's a wonderful gym, spa, and also a RIULand kids Club. Wi-Fi is included in all the rooms and even out on the beach area.
